The Groesbeck boys cross country team finished 10th out of 15 teams in the Class 1A-4A division at the Midway Hewitt Kiwanis Invitational in Hewitt on Thursday.
The Groesbeck Goats returned home Friday night looking for a victory against the Little River Academy Bumblebees, only to fall short 41-20. The Goats, who outscored their first two opponents 126-24, allowed a season high 41 points to a very talented Academy team and fell to 2-1.
Groesbeck football coach Jerry Bomar said when his team hosts Little River Academy at 7:30 p.m. Friday, the Goats will face the best defensive team they’ve played so far this season.
The Groesbeck boys cross country team finished in the top half of the field at the Pro-Fit Invitational at James Wilson Park in Temple on Friday.
