A night of drinking at a friend’s house for Richie Griffin in Austin led to the holidays spent in the court system after he crashed into a home when he got behind the wheel drunk. This is just one of many stories that highlight the costly and tragic consequences of driving under the influence. This holiday season, TxDOT wants to remind Texans to always find a sober ride.
Kosse city staff moved into their newly renovated building across the street a few months ago, and have since settled in nicely, holding Council meetings there and housing city department offices in the spacious new location. The former City Hall building has been purchased by Preservation Texas, an organization who already has some familiarity with the area as their Bassett Conservancy is just outside Kosse City limits. Mayor Brooks Valls is pleased to see the property in their hands.
Celebration is about all I can say about our get together on Thursday as twenty of us gathered for lunch. We not only celebrated Christmas coming in a little over another week but we had three birthdays to celebrate and celebrate we did. Starting with Neennah German at age 96, Mr. Earl Mask at age 95 and Snuffy Smith, age ?? These people amaze me, Mr. Earl still driving everywhere and Neennah did the same until about 3 years ago. We wish them more birthdays and good health. We had birthday cakes, pies and muffins and sang “Happy Birthday”.
The holiday season is upon us! Actually, if you’ve been out to any major big box store, the holiday season has pretty much been upon us since mid-July, and seems to creep back a bit more every year!
