What an exciting game the Groesbeck-Mexia Battle of the River turned out to be.
The Groesbeck Homecoming will be October 7-8. Many activities are being planned for game night and homecoming Saturday. The Groesbeck Ex-Students recently announced the homecoming parade marshall, ‘Coach’ Jim Longbotham as well as Mr. and Mrs. Homecoming is Coach/ AD Jerry Bomar and high school principal, Dr. Bonnie Bomar. Please see separate articles inside this issue on those. Special recognition will be held for them during the homecoming pregame ceremony.
The Groesbeck Ex-Students Association would like to thank all of those for paying their annual class dues.
Misty Perkins has experienced more tragic loss in her life than most, losing her father to suicide at the young age of 10 years old, and her 13-year-old daughter Laney to suicide three and a half years ago, in May of 2019. Despite the devastation life has handed her, Perkins has found a way to heal, grow, and advocate for suicide prevention and awareness in the hopes of saving other parents from a similar, preventable loss.
Limestone County Judge Richard Duncan shared some good news for the county on Tuesday, Sept. 27, during what was otherwise an uneventful Commissioners Court meeting.
