The sales tax receipts that Limestone County’s cities received in July continued the upward trend over last year, with only one small negative figure for Groesbeck, which was outweighed by the yearto-date figure.
Limestone County Historical Commission got the good news that the city of Mexia, the city of Groesbeck, and Limestone County had all voted to support the possible transfer of Old Fort Parker to the Texas Historical Commission. It will be up to the THC to determine whether it is willing to take over the site.
The Walker Strong Initiative at the end of last month was monumental in raising funds to outfit local law enforcement vehicles with bulletproof windshields. The live auction alone brought in over $75,000, and Diana Diaz of Groesbeck was grateful to support this cause by taking home a Christianson Arms Modern Precision pistol caliber in 6.5 Creedmoor for her top bid of $12,000. “I’m thankful for my community and their support of my real estate career. It feels great to be able to contribute to those who choose to protect us daily and participate in a tribute to the Walker Family!”
