Plans are currently being made for a celebration during the week of December 16th to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Limestone County courthouse, which became home to the county government on December 22, 1924. Prior to 1924, there were three other courthouses built in Groesbeck, which became the county seat in 1873, and at least two courthouses in the first county seat of Springfield.
First Baptist Church of Groesbeck hosted its annual First Responders Appreciation Lunch on Nov. 21, treating police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, sheriff’s deputies, dispatchers, office staff, and others to a hearty meal in recognition of their service.
