The Groesbeck Study Club had its end of the year social at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. President Kay Alston opened the meeting and Ginger Fritz gave the invocation. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance and Kay turned the meeting over to the Social Committee.
The Groesbeck Study Club has been presenting the Woman of the Year for many years. It is usually given out at the January Chamber of Commerce Banquet, but since there was not one this year, we waited until our end of the year social to present it.

The Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes will kick off Super Centex Victory Bowl week on Wednesday, May 27. A total of 85 football players, 24 volleyball players, 20 cheerleaders, 36 baseball players, 30 softball players, 32 basketball players, nearly 50 band members and 35 area coaches make up this year’s 18th annual event serving 100 Central Texas high schools.
Groesbeck Independent School District (GISD) has officially released its schedule for the upcoming summer youth athletic camps. Designed to keep local students active and help young athletes sharpen their skills, this summer’s lineup features basketball, softball, and football camps hosted by GISD head coaching staff.
