This Friday is “Food for Families” day in Central Texas. In the Groesbeck area donations will benefit the Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry which is located on Navasota Street in downtown Grosbeck. Please see related article.
Jesus paid his followers a rich compliment when He said, “ You are the salt of the earth.” (Matt. 5:13) What did He mean you ask? At least one obvious truth is that salt applied to food makes it tastier, in fact it brings out the richest flavor.

The Old Testament speaks in many different places of the Love of God for his people. 1 Kings (10:9) mentions, “The Lord’s eternal love for his people”. The prophet Jeremiah says, “The Lord appeared to us in the past saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”(32:3) Hosea speaks of God’s eternal love for his people like this, “When Israel was a child, I loved him.” (11:1) The prophet Malachi pointing to God’s choice of his people heard the Lord God say, “I have loved you.” (1:2) Finally, Isaiah seeking to convince the people of God’s deep love for them said, “See, I have engraved you on the palm of my hands.” (49:16)
Well, the November 2nd election day is rapidly approaching. Early voting will end this Friday, October 29.
