J. Gordon Mitchell has officially announced his candidacy for Congress in Texas’s 17th District, launching a campaign grounded in service, steady leadership, and accountability to the people who live and work across the district.

As part of National Rural Health Day, Nov. 20, Parkview Regional Hospital announced that it has earned two 2025 Performance Leadership Awards for excellence in quality and in patient perspective. Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top-quartile performance — the 75th percentile or above — among rural hospitals in quality, outcomes and/or patient perspective.
